Teacher Assistant (Infant Toddler)

Sara is a very kind person who loves taking care of children. Originally from Colombia, Sara has been taking care of little ones for many years! She always goes above and beyond for the kiddos and enjoys doing fun, engaging activities with them to ensure they are filled with the joy of learning. Sara is very nurturing and loves caring for infants and toddlers.

Sara is fluent is Spanish and is working on her command of English.

Daphne

Educational Director

Daphne Thompson is a fun and loving professional. Her passion is teaching. She has been teaching for 20+ years.  While she has gained incredible wisdom and experience, she has not lost any of the optimism and enthusiasm that has led her to a enjoy a thriving career.

 

Daphne maintains a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Ed. In addition, she holds a NY teacher’s certification in Birth-2nd grade. Before joining One World Learning, she spent 5 years as a lead teacher and eventually became the Educational Director of Explore and Discover Early Learning Center, a highly regarded, Reggio Emilia inspired childcare center in NYC.

 

Daphne enjoys spending time with her family and her daughter Penelope, who-as of August 2021, is only 19 months’ old. She believes that successful students become successful adults and that all children are capable of learning.

Katerine

Lead Teacher

Katerine is a veteran childcare professional who In her native Colombia, was a nurse for more than 8 years. Her specialization was caring for newborns then. which She loves to this day.  Her medical Knowledge is a real Value to her work as a caregiver! 

 

Kat loves children and is also the mother of a 7-year-old boy! She considers herself a person with “a lot of vocation, tolerance, respect and love....When working with the little ones I do my best to always understand them, to better communicate and educate them.”  Kat, as her children and colleagues know her, shows those attributes in her work each and every day.   Her experience as a mother, caretaker and previous neonatal nurse, are great assets to the One World Learning Team! 

 

Katerine is fluent in English and Spanish.

Carolina
Toddler Teacher

Originally from Brazil, Carolina has worked with children for many years. Prior to stating her college education, she already tutored children in her neighborhood. Soon after she began her college career in education where she graduate with an education degree. She has worked as an assistant teacher as well as the lead teacher in different school districts in Brazil. Since moving to the US Carolina is living her passion as an educator. She started in the states as an Au Pair where she helped the children do school work during COVID when schools were shut down; then became a nanny and is thriving once again in her natural space as a teacher.

Carolina loves caring and teaching children of all ages. She is fluent in Portuguese and English and has a working understanding of Spanish.
